Voted against the city’s historic 2016 property tax increase.

Advocated tirelessly for a stronger police presence in the ward resulting in more than 70 additional police officers being permanently assigned to the 016th District since 2015.

Brought park improvements including a new playground at Wildwood Park, a donated outdoor hockey rink at Norwood Park and many other improvements at Grandparent’s Park and Oriole Park.

Rejected two high-density residential developments that would have included 694 apartments.

Brought school overcrowding relief including a $20 million annex at Ebinger Elementary in 2016 and a $34 million annex at Dirksen Elementary in 2018.

Implemented the ward’s first ever participatory budget giving residents a say in how their tax dollars are spent.

Brought long overdue major infrastructure improvements throughout the entire 41st ward including new sewer mains, new water mains and complete street restoration.

Co-sponsored legislation that passed City Council and allocated excess TIF funds to help alleviate Chicago Public School’s budget shortfall.

Remained the most independent voice in the City Council. Documented as the most anti-rubber stamp Alderman in the entire City Council.
